Learn About Upcoming Events!During the Month of May The Brain and Body and Body Coalition is happy to offer a variety of programs to connect the community with nature and the arts. As we strive to promote wellness from head to toe and ensure our community is equipped with a variety of coping mechanisms, we invite you to join us.
Brain-Body-Art
Brain-Body-Art is a special initiative by The Brain and Body Coalition that harnesses the power of art as a positive coping mechanism. This unique program partners with the local art gallery at Vassar College and Kingston Ceramics to highlight the healing potential of clay and community. Organized by local artists and individuals with lived experience, Brain-Body-Art focuses on several key areas:
- Exploration and Appreciation: Participants discover the stories behind artworks and connect them to their personal journeys.
- Emotional Expression and Mindfulness: The program teaches how art can be used as a tool for healing and stress management.
- Open Conversations: Participants engage with peers and local leaders on topics related to personal trauma and healing.
- Practical Coping Skills: Participants build a self-care toolkit and learn practical ways to manage emotions and stress.

Brain Body Outdoors
The Brain and Body Coalition offers “Kids Coping and Casting” and “Reel Hope for Men’s Mental Health,” using fishing to promote well-being and life skills. These programs have supported over 476 families. There is no cost for registration. We thank our sponsors for allowing us to offer equipment, worms, and education to our youth and families! Contact us for more details.
As part of connecting the community to the outdoors we are happy to be partnering with Scenic Hudson with a special initiative: New to Nature. The purpose of this program is to give families an opportunity to have exposure to parks and programs they may not normally have. This May we are taking a trip to the Catskills! We invite families to join us for Fishing Family and Fun as we participate in fishing lessons, interactive games, and a small competition as a way to benefit from the outdoors and build a culture of wellness.
